Lexi caught her first fish!
Posted Monday, May 21, 2007 by Michelle
We went fishing saturday at Piercy Priest Lake. Landon was helping his dad try to catch the BIG fish so Lexi asked to take over Landon's pole. Sure enough, down the bobber went. She couldn't believe it. big brother came running over to help her reel it in since it put up such a fight! We think it was a baby large mouth bass.
Scooter Time!
Posted Monday, May 14, 2007 by Michelle
Landon has been riding his scooter for a long time now, but lately he has been flying around the cul-de-sac. Lexi begged for one, so we bought one for her. She has gotten really good on it and now can "ride like bubby!"
Spring Break at Disney World
Posted Friday, March 30, 2007 by Kyle
We went to Disney World in Orlando this year for spring break. I think Lexi and Landon really had a good time. We saw many of the attractions such as Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom. They seemed to really like the fireworks over the Disney castle and the parade of lights. We rode several rides such as "It's a small world" (rode that one twice), "Pirates of the Caribbean", "Buzz Lightyear", "Animal Safari", "Finding Nemo", etc. Landon even went on the space mountain roller coaster with mommy. I don't think either knew for sure what it was. Landon did pretty well on it, but I don't think he would do it again.
We stayed in a really nice Hilton resort (granite counter tops, separate bedroom, huge whirlpool tub, and giant pool). I think a good time was had by all.
A Piece of Chicken With a Handle Please
Posted Friday, March 30, 2007 by Kyle
The other night we had fried chicken for dinner. Michelle was giving Lexi a piece and she said "No, no, I want a piece with a handle". Michelle asked her to show her what she meant. She pointed to a chicken leg, thus the "handle".
Landon's First Soccer Practice
Posted Wednesday, March 14, 2007 by Kyle
Landon had his first soccer practice last night. He did very well. I think soccer might turn out to be his best sport. Only thing was that due to his late birthday, he was put with younger players. He turned out to be the tallest one on his team. Nonetheless, he still did really well.
Landon's Cottage Cheese Mistake
Posted Tuesday, March 13, 2007 by Kyle
I came home from work last night exhausted and I couldn't have imagined anything giving me a laugh, but Landon pulled it off. We had cottage cheese as a side dish for dinner last night. I made a comment that mommy had bought the small curd type instead of large curd. Landon then made a comment about it, however he substituted a "t" for the "c" in the word curd. I thought I heard it wrong so I asked him to repeat what he had just said. He really thought that is what I said. He did it with such a straight face, that I just lost it. I'm not sure when I have laughed so hard. Come to think of it, I have a smile on my face just typing this!
Landon Goes Skating
Posted Tuesday, March 13, 2007 by Kyle
Landon's good friend Brayden had his seventh birthday party at the local skating rink last Saturday night. Landon said he knew how to skate, but it became pretty obvious after a few minutes that he really didn't. So, mommy got a pair of skates and off they went. I'm not really sure who had a better time. They were really funny together. Landon seemed to catch on to it pretty quickly. Lexi fell asleep watching.
After skating, Landon went to a sleep-over at Brayden's house. He came back with another front tooth missing (that makes two)! It was already quite loose.
Landon Reading Books
Posted Tuesday, January 9, 2007 by Kyle
Last night I went in to Landon's room while he was reading a book to Michelle. It was really nice to hear him read a book when you can actually follow along with the story line. We sure are proud of him.
Have you ever seen a monster under the water?
Posted Tuesday, January 9, 2007 by Kyle
Lexi has been saying the funniest thing lately. About once a day, she will come up to either me or Michelle with a very serious face and ask "have you ever seen a monster under the water"? We couldn't figure it out, until Ms Candice, her daycare teacher explained it to us. She said Lexi had a dream one day during her nap about a monster that she saw under water.
If you go up to her and ask the same question, she looks at you seriously and says "You don't talk about monsters under the water"!
Funny.
Don't Look At My Face

When Lexi gets mad at you, she will turn and look at you with a very serious face and say "Don't wook at my face"! It is funny!
Lexi learns to ride a bike- almost
Posted Friday, June 16, 2006 by Michelle
Landon was riding his bike last night and I had let her try to ride his old one a few weeks ago with no luck. Last night she was determined to ride it, so I put Landon's old helmet on her tucked her dress up out of the way and away we went. she did pretty good, but her temper gets in the way. I had to teacher to blow it off and sigh a deep breath to collect her self. So now, she gets a few rounds and her feet go backwards instead of forwards slamming on the breaks. She get mad, says UHHHHH! and blows a big breath and tries again.
I WANT MY SWIM SOUP!!!!
Posted Friday, June 16, 2006 by Michelle
It was waterday yesterday at the daycare. I was getting Lexi ready and put her swim suit on her. I asked if she wanted a pair of shorts or a skirt and she patted her belly and said now, I WANT MY SWIM SOUP.
Minibike for Landon
Posted Wednesday, June 14, 2006 by Kyle
Landon enjoyed his recent experience on a minibike so much, that I made him a deal. If he could retrieve a dive ring from the deepest part of the pool 3 times and then swim half-way across, I told him I would find him a minibike. He wasn't crazy about it all, but for a minibike, he decided to give it a try. Not only did he accomplish everything, he swam ALL the way across the pool!
So, earlier in the week I ordered him a minibike. Given the fact that I had so much fun on my dirtbikes when I was a kid, I certainly couldn't deny him the same experiences. I must admit we are all looking forward to it's arrival. If he likes it, I figure I will have to find one for me so we can go riding together.
There is a stupid commercial on TV that shows someone in a chicken costume on a ditrbike doing a back-flip off a large ramp. When Landon saw it, he sad "Daddy, you are going to have to show me how to do that!"
Landon passes the YMCA swim test
Posted Tuesday, June 13, 2006 by Michelle
Landon came home from Y-Nature camp today and told us he passed the swim test. We were so proud of him. He had to swim the entire length of the pool and say with his head above water in the 10 ft end for 30 seconds! We are so proud of him.
Lexi completes first week of potty training
Posted Thursday, June 8, 2006 by Michelle
Lexi is doing pretty good at the potty training thing....at school. She is only having a few accidents, but at home it is as though she forgets. She will get the hang of it soon, I HOPE!
Lexi Swimming
Posted Monday, June 5, 2006 by Kyle
We really enjoy going to the pool now that the weather has turned nice. Landon is coming along nicely with swimming and this year Lexi has taken an interest in it as well. Problem is she is not the least bit scared of the water! She goes under without the least hesitation even though the shallow end of the pool is quite a bit over her head! We have to watch her very close.
Landon and the Minibike
Posted Monday, June 5, 2006 by Kyle
We went to Danielle's parents house on easter afternoon. They invited several friends over for the afternoon. Brayden's uncle bought a little dirt bike for him (50cc), but they said he hadn't been too interested in it and they thought maybe if he saw others riding, he might develop an interest. Some of the others that were there also brought a couple of little dirt bikes.
Landon took one look at them and said he wanted to give it a try. He got on it and took right off! I sure was proud to see him flying around their yard on it. He had a great time. It sure brought back a lot of memorie for me.
We have been considering getting him one, but they are hard to find. It is also hard to find somewhere for him to ride, but we haven't given up on the idea just yet. We have been thinking about getting one for him and one for me so we can go riding together. Sounds like a lot of fun to me!
Landon gets the first game ball!
Posted Friday, April 7, 2006 by Michelle
Landon decided he wanted to play baseball. He wasn't doing really well at practice when it came to hitting the ball, but he was about the same as any kid playing a sport for the first time. He never played T-ball and went right into coach pitch which is harder. He was having to hit the ball off the T during practices and during the first game, he hit the coach pitch ball! They were so proud of his progress that Coach Hendry gave the first game ball of the season to Landon. It is in a plastic keepsake box on his dresser.
Brayden came over for the day
Posted Thursday, January 19, 2006 by Kyle
The kids were out of school this past Monday and Brayden came over for the day. I had to work, but I hear they had a great time. Brayden was able to make out his next Birthday AND Christmas list by going through Landon's toys and saying "I want this for my next Birthday/Christmas". They rode bikes, went to McDonalds and played with sister. Lexi did the best she could to keep up with them.
Landon's First Email
Posted Thursday, January 19, 2006 by Kyle
I set up an email account last night for Landon and he sent his first email message. Paw Paw was the lucky recipient. He told him he hoped he was feeling better and showed off by typing the alphabet in different colors. He had a lot of fun with it.
